About

The Maryland Institute of Development (MID) is a non-profit established to promote traditional Islamic learning and offer services to the community.  Our educational programs includes a traditional Islamic studies curriculum, a full-time tahfeezul Quran program, a sister's tafseer program, and a program focusing on spiritual diseases of the heart and how to cure them.  Our teachers have studied with many prominent scholars and have multiple years of teaching and counseling experience.  Our services include counseling and local distribution of charity to those in need.

"Surely, Allah does not change the condition of a people unless they change themselves" (Surah 13, Verse 11)

Our Mission

At the Maryland Institute of Development, our goal is to create a community centered around education and spiritual development.  Our educational classes offer a wide range of subject material for various age groups.  Our services aim to provide a support structure for the community at large, offering family counseling and charity work.

Our Vision

We strive to provide an avenue of learning for working professionals, students, and families by offering weekend and evening classes.  We believe by attaining knowledge and focusing on improving ourselves as individuals, we can improve the world around us.
